HGB

The Commercial Code (HGB) contains the core of commercial law in Germany. The Civil Code applies to merchants in addition to the HGB only subsidiary. Above all, the HGB relies on the legal form in order to facilitate the transactions to be carried out. In addition, the HGB contains the regulations for the OHG, the KG and the silent partnership.

For corporations, the HGB contains regulations on financial statements and reports. There are also supplementary requirements for insurance companies, credit institutions and cooperatives.
